Turkey's ninth president Suleyman Demirel passes away

ANKARA, TURKEY - JUNE 17: (ARCHIVE FOOTAGE) - Turkey's 9th President Suleyman Demirel suffering from acute respiratory failure and cardiac insufficiency has died at the age of 91 at the Ankara Guven Hospital in capital Ankara, Turkey on June 17, 2015. According to a statement from the private Guven Hospital in the capital Ankara, Demirel had been under treatment for renal failure, heart failure and acute respiratory tract infection since May 13. Suleyman Demirel was a Turkish politician and statesman who served as the 9th President of Turkey from 1993 to 2000 and previously as the Prime Minister of Turkey five times between the years 1965 and 1993.
