Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer of New York says in a floor speech that a decision by President Trump to withdraw the United States from the Paris climate agreement is a sucker punch to American workers who should be building the next generation of wind turbines and solar panels, that economic rival China cedes the mantle of innovation and clean energy away from America, that Ernst and Young noted for the first time China and India both outranked the United States as being better places renewable energy investment, calling it a devastating loss to workers who would benefit greatly from America leading the way forward in a new industry to instead lose out and hurt American businesses in American workers even more than the self-inflicted wound by President Trump, and that he seriously hopes Trump reconsiders his decision for the sake of the planet and the future of the American economy.
