50th Tsugaru Snow Rugby Held At A Snow-Blanketed Sports Park

It was gloves off for residents of Hirosaki, Aomori Prefecture when they put their snow shovels to tackle some snow rugby instead on February 6 and 7, this Video was shot on February 7,2016 in Hirosaki, Japan. Held at a snow-blanketed sports park, the sporting event drew 25 men’s teams with players ranging from children to working adults as well as two women’s teams. The yearly competition was first held in 1967 as a way to give residents a chance to work out during the long winter months in the northern Tohoku city.
