'Megalopolis' premiered at 2024 Cannes Film Festival

CANNES, FRANCE - MAY 16, 2024: Director Francis Ford Coppola's 'Megalopolis' was premiered at 2024 Cannes Film Festival on Thursday, May 16.Adam Driver, Nathalie Emmanuel, Shia Labeouf, Jason Schwartzman, and Giancarlo Esposito attended the screening of 'Megalopolis' during the 77th annual Cannes film festival at Palais des Festivals.Megalopolis is a Roman Epic fable set in an imagined Modern America. The City of New Rome must change, causing conflict between Cesar Catilina, a genius artist who seeks to leap into a utopian, idealistic future, and his opposition, Mayor Franklyn Cicero, who remains committed to a regressive status quo, perpetuating greed, special interests, and partisan warfare. Torn between them is socialite Julia Cicero, the mayor’s daughter, whose love for Cesar has divided her loyalties, forcing her to discover what she truly believes humanity deserves.The international Cannes Film Festival started on Tuesday, May 14, and will run until May 25.One of the largest media events in the world, the festival is followed by more than 4,000 journalists and over 2,000 media outlets from around 90 countries.The winners will be announced on Saturday, May 25, at the Closing Ceremony.(Footage by Mohamad Salaheldin Abdelg Alsayed/Anadolu Agency via Getty Images)
