DUESSELDORF, Germany: A float featuring a monkey resembling US president George W. Bush who holds a sign reading "Evolution is a False Doctrine" makes its way through the revellers during the Rose Monday carnival street parade 27 February 2006 in Duesseldorf, western Germany. More than one million people took to the streets of cities across the Rhine region of Germany to celebrate the highpoint of the country's carnival week. Carnival is a tradition stemming from Catholic regions in the west and south of Germany, but it is rapidly being adopted by cities in the north and east.
