Turkey launches construction of first nuclear power plant
MERSIN, TURKEY - APRIL 14: Turkey launched the construction of its first nuclear power plant, Akkuyu, a $20 billion project, for a greater energy self-sufficiency in Mersin province of Turkey on 14 April, 2015. The nuclear power station, in Akkuyu, is being built, by Russia's nuclear agency Rosatom. Turkey's Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Taner Yildiz and Rosatom CEO Sergey Kiriyenko attend the groundbreaking ceremony of Akkuyu Nuclear Power Plant.
