England and Scotland to become first countries to offer nationally funded meningitis B vaccination programmes

VOICED: England and Scotland are to become the first countries in the world to introduce a nationally funded vaccination programme against meningitis. The jab, which will be offered to all babies from September, will protect infants against meningitis B - which can cause brain damage, loss of limbs or even death. A second vaccine to protect teenagers against different strains of meningitis will also be introduced. Wales and Northern Ireland are expected to follow suit.
