Fishery of “Etsu”-Japanese tapertail anchovy

Etsu (Coilia nasus) is a fish from the family Engraulidae, and grows to 41cm total length, which is a relatively large species for its genus. It is famous for its beautifully shining slender body, and we can only see Etsu fishes in Ariake Sea or near the mouth of Chikugo River. Fishery of Etsu is only held between May through July every year.
