Ballerina Sylvie Guillem collaboration with Akram Khan / interview with Sylvie Guillem and Akram Khan; ENGLAND: London: Sadler's Wells Studio: INT Sylvie Guillem (Dancer) interview SOT - (Asked how she met with Khan) It is a small world / One day we were supposed to meet / That was 2 years ago / Mixture of destiny and choice / Saw him on TV with his company / I was really impressed / His agent called me to see one of his classical shows / Could see that he was interesting because it was a different type of energy / Style different and clever / As a dancer I was attracted to it / The studio for us makes our ideas physical and real / Have doubts when go into a studio but interesting because you learn / We wanted to do something together / I knew it was going to be difficult physically because we are very different / Our energy is different / Childhood is going to be in Sacred Monsters but not how you expect / It is a journey / We have common starting points / Akram in Katak and me in classical ballet / Hard to explain / You are not going to see classical dance you are going to see me asking myself questions / That is where my journey starts / I started to explore outside classical ballet a long time ago / I knew a lot of things are wrong in classical ballet but there is still value / I love it and respect it / By knowing differences and learning differences it was helping me to see it differently / I started classical when I was 19 then I started to open my eyes and interests / I have done classical I don't want to do it anymore / I want to try something else
