1.2 billion to be enroled

The world's largest bio-metric enrolment in India called Aadhaar will enrol 1.2 billion people in a 12-digit unique number for each person to be issued to each resident in India. The number with its biometric information – photograph, ten fingerprints and iris scan – of each individual. It is easily verifiable in an online. It is unique and robust enough to eliminate the large number of duplicate and fake identities in government and private databases.
