Although from an aerial view like this during summer not much flow can be seen through the river, Wairau River is one of the longest river in New Zealand's South Island. It extends to 170 kilometres. Both, the river and the valley, have created perfect condition for grapes to turn into wine with intense flavour. From an aerial view, those vineyards look like rectangle shapes. To be noted, Marlborough Region that houses Wairau Valley produces three quarters of all New Zealand's wine.
